They have both passed away. I just want to know if anyone has any info on them or there family members.

My husband, Bill Riggs is descended from Shadrack Riggs and his father, Giles. Kissin Cousins is a great book by Annette Hill Jones & Lois Mayo Jones. Lois is now deceased, but Annette lives in Hobucken. Her address is Box 43, Hobucken, NC 28537. Her phone is 252-745-3293. There were some assumptions made, such as John Riggs, 1st husband of Mary Hardison Beasley was brother of Jesse Riggs, 2nd husband of MHB. That is incorrect. Jesse was the son of Shadrack, but John was the son of James who died in 1826! The book is well researched and I recommend it highly. Annette & I were in high school together and played basketball. Hope you will be able to get a copy of the book. Will be glad to share information with you when I have the time. We are getting ready for a trip to the South Pacific on March 1st. This book has all the family tree from Shadrack Riggs ( 1600's) through present day. Unfortunately I do not own the book myself or I'd look up Ruth Riggs for You. I am a Riggs decendent. My mother was born Elsie Marie Riggs BD- August27, 1911, in Harris county Texas, D - Oct.19, 2002, Houston, Harris county, Texas. She was one of 7 children - two still living.in Houston, Texas. Her father was Samuel Merritt Riggs, Born-March 14, 1866 in Texas. d. December 14, 1935 in Houston, Harris county, Texas. He married Jeanette Susan Teal.. April 29,1895 . Samuel Merritt Riggs (my grandfather) was the youngest of 4 children and the only son of (my g grandfather) Samuel Merritt Riggs and Sarah Jacinto Calvert Penn. -- Samuel Merritt Riggs b. December 14,1831in Livonia, Livingston county, New York, and d. January 11, 1866 in Harris county, Texas - he is buried in a family cemetary in Crosby, Texas. Sarah Jacinto Calvert Penn, (my g grandmother) b October 07, 1838 in Texas, d.November 22, 1868 in Texas.- she is buried in a family cemetary in Crosby, Texas. (my g g grand father) Merritt Woodruff Riggs, b.November 07,1800 in Oxford! , Conneticut and d. December 27, 1870 in Avon, New York. He married Harriet Kellogg (my g g grandmother) May 1825 in Avon or Lavonia, Livingston county, New York. (my ggg grandfather) Samuel Riggs born Abt. 1774 in Litchfield, Connecticut, and died 1848. He married(1) Betsy Rigby.(my ggg grandmother) She was born Abt. 1778 in Litchfield, Connecticut.She died in 1800. He married (2) Catherine Shaw. She was born Abt. 1778... (my gggg grandfather) Jeremiah Riggs, married Anna Woodruff, daughter of Jacob Woodruff and Lucy Farnam. His parents (my ggggg grandparents) were Ebenezer Riggs and Rachel Peck. I know so little about that side of my family. I will ask my father the next time I see him about my grandfather Father's name. I do know he had a brother who was a Strawberry Farmer in Portsmouth Oh. There mother or my Greatmother also lived there. I remember visting them once or twice as a child but that was about it. I was told Loyd's mother was 50% Cherokee Indian. Eddie had a brother and his name was Thomas. He and his wife lived in Maysville and they had 4 or 5 children. One is Gary Riggs and Im told he is jailer for Mason Country. Im not sure of his other siblings name or where they live. In do know Eddie mother lived in Bethel Oh later in life but I do not recall every meeting her. A lot of our cousins live in Hillsboro Ohio Im told. I do know a cousins of ours lives in Maysville and his name is Elwood Riggs and he is 91 or 92 and in good health Im told. I'm in California, my father was Warren Clyde Riggs, born in Salt Lake City, his dad was Clyde Riggs, not sure where he was born, just have seen pictures of my Grandfather in uniform, Civil war? This Riggs line may be another one. My Grandfather was Loyd Riggs and was a Farmer in Bracken Couny and Mason County. His Farm was outside Stonewall. He was married to Eddie Riggs and that was her maiden name also. They had one son Joseph W. Riggs who lives in Maysville Kentucky. Loyd Riggs died in Apirl 1967 at 52 yrs of age and Eddie Riggs died in May 1967 at 48 yrs of age. Im the son of Joseph W Riggs. I do not recall the name Caleb so this may not be the type of information your looking for.
