How are we related? Do you have any information about how he ended up in Utah, and any other information on his life? All that I have is his birth and death information along with several of his children. I am mostly looking for descendants but my computer crashed and the most recent information I had backed up had the wrong birthplace for him. It had him born in England when it should have been Massachusetts. I haven't had time to download his ancestry from the Familysearch website so if you could send that along with his descendents (if that is fine with you) it would be greatly appreciated. Just tall me what you want on a GEDCOM from me and I'll send it. My email is blr_paratrooper@hotmail.com Thanks for all of your help, Brady P.S: Here is a quick low-down of my relationship to him: Brady Lynn Robbins-Sarah Ann Carter- George Lynn Carter- Linnie Jane Burgon-Adelina Edwina Riggs-John Ensign Riggs

If you can link William "Billy" Riggs to your tree please let me know. As far as I can determine, he was born around 1895. Died abt 1918. He is listed as Father on my Mother's birth certificate. She was born 17 Mar 1919. Her Mother is listed as Edna Riggs. I need to connect William to Edna or Virginia in order to know that I have the right William.

I don't have any factual info, but just feel like your Mary Polly had a sister named Phoebe Riggs and a brother named Clisby, borned about 1769 in Tn.as my passed down stories go! MY tales said her father was Dr. Asa Riggs . Phoebe married Frazier Brindley ca 1794 ,as thier first child, Asa Riggs Brindley was born in Jeff. Co. Tn, in 1795. They lived in Franklin Co, GA in 1801 and a Bethuel Riggs lived near. He was a traveling Preacher Don't know what his relation was.I have not been able to find any thing on this Phoebe or Asa!!! Perhaps his other name was Rueben!???

His information on Mary RIGGS and George K. LARRIMORE is as follows; using Clisby's Will as a reference: Clisby's Will split his property amongst his NINE living children. The following is per Leo RIGGS research. THIRDLY: I will that all my property be equally divided among all my children at my death. In his will he then identifies four of them -- Edward, Ellis, Harvey and Samuel. A subsequent legal action by Jesse RIGGS identifies a fifth. The action also states that he is entitled to 1/9 part of the estate giving us the number of Clisby's children (Clisby's wife had died by 1840). Two more are identified in a letter dated 26 April 1856, written by Harvey RIGGS of Morristown TN -- Clisby's son to Harvey's son Zacok C. RIGGS, who is then living in Mississippi. He asks Zadok to see his Aunt Nancy SNOW and his Uncle Zadok RIGGS, thus identifying two more children - Harvey's brother and sister. The last two children are more tentative. When Harvey and Samuel RIGGS settled Clisby's Estate they sold 12 Negro Slaves. Four went in single purchases, three were bought by Ellis RIGGS, and five by Phebe RI"GGS, the wife of James STUBBLEFIELD. I assign her as the 8th child of Clisby RIGGS. Since the slaves Phebe purchased were George and Sukey and their two younges children, Harvey and Mary Ann, and Emeline; the action could be seen as an attempt to keep the family together on the part of one of Clisby's children. There is no defense for slavery, yet theis seems an act of compassion by a family member on behalf of long time retainers. In the Will Clisby saw to the comfort of his elderly boy (slave) Phillip. The ninth I show is Mary RIGGS based upon one land transaction with family members. In Clisby's family witnesses seem to be family members only. The Hamblen Heritage identifies Clisby's children as : Ellis, Anna, Polly (Mary), Edward, Phoebe, Samuel and Harvey. Clisby RIGGS - Last Will and Testament Children of Clisby and Jane Evans RIGGS were: 1.
