The Jesse Riggs you speak off is Edwards brother who ended up in Middle TN. There are several Deeds from Edward to Clisbe (This is the spelling on the Deeds) where Edward states Clisbe is his son. According to my records Clisby and Jane Evans Riggs had 9 Children. Nancy, Ellis, Mary, Edward, Zadok, Phebe, Samuel Moses, Jesse Wley, Harvey. Surnames: Rigg Riggs Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HSDBAIB/781.862 Message Board Post: There was a Thomas Rigg (d. 1796, Stokes Co., NC) who married Sarah, widow of Alexander Hannah. They had a son, Charles B. Rigg listed in the estate and guardianship records. Thomas and Sarah moved from Charles Co., MD to Henry Co., VA in 1784, then to Stokes Co., NC in the early 1790s. Many of the Hannah and Rigg(s) children moved to the KY-OH-WV area in the early 1800s. This included Boyd, Greenup and Carter Co., KY; Cabell and Wayne Co., WV; and Lawrence Co., KY. Charles B. Rigg, son of Thomas Rigg, looks a lot like the Charles B. Riggs who appears in the 1850 census of Carter Co., KY. I am researching descendents of Thomas Rigg (d. 1761, Charles Co., MD) father of the above Thomas Rigg.

    3. It still seems strange that this line from Dobson, Surry County doesn't include my Mahala's line. That is exactly where I place her marriage, at least. I would love to have a chance to read the book. Am getting ready to move, so any interlibrary loan would have to wait until I am settled in my elsewhere.
