Please feel free to contact me directly at lmjack15@aol..com. Thanks for the heads up on 24 April. I will plan to go. Perhaps we will bump into each other. Linda

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HSDBAIB/1416.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Linda, I don't think we have a match on Daniel and Sarah Bailey as sister and brother. Daniel's parents were Stephen Bailey and Huldah Whitney. Stephen was born in Warwick, Orange County NY in 1765. His children were Daniel, Stephen,Huldah,Samuel,Phebe Ann, William O, Matthew and Joseph. I don't have anything before Stephen, or who his parents were, but perhaps he had a brother, whose daughter would be Sarah. Regarding the obit request...must have been mental telepathy, right before your email arrived, I was on the phone with the funeral home, and they will forward a letter I send them to the NOK. Let me know how you make out with the Bailey's and I'll look from this end By the way, there is a Sussex County History Day at Sussex County Community College on Sat 4/24 from 9-3. I understand that there was a lot of material last year on the Baileys so I'm planning on going this year. It's in Newton. Happy hunting, Sandra Rodman

    2. Had, This is the closest I can come up with from my family tree: Mary Estelle "Polly" Riggs B 1791 Nelson County, Ky. D. Bet 1865-1870. She was one of ten children of William H. 2. David, if you have come across a Thomas Riggs, born 1802 in either Kentucky or North Carolina, I would appreciate getting his information. The names that seem to stand out in his family and subsequent descendants, are Brannick, Barney Kemp, James Monroe, Rhoda (began, I assume, with his wife Rhoda Casey). Thanks for al of the good work that you are doing. We have always felt that if we can get passed this Thomas, the progenitors will be easier to find and identify. Thad

    2. Hi Sarah, Many thanks for the information. I will try and get the book " Riggs in Maryland." I am sure some of them (my line) from Accomack County, Virginia also had land in Somerset County, Maryland. My Abraham's (1674-1726) brother Isaac's (1672-1742) line seems to of vanished from Accomack County, Virginia. I also suspect that some of my Riggs also went to North Carolina, but have no proof yet. You asked "what is the Riggs Cousin's Club". I formed the club a few years ago to unite all the Riggs I make contact with on the internet that are of the same Riggs blood line, descendants of Abraham Riggs who with his brother Isaac were brought to Accomack County Virginia under the Head Rights Law in 1687, from somewhere in the United Kingdom. There are 27 members and we are always looking to welcome new found cousins to join us. Our family tree as of today contains just under 9,000 Riggs and their descendants, with over 1000 with the Riggs surname. Regards, David Harrison Riggs RiggsCousinsClub@aol.com DHRiggsLondon@aol.com

    2. Hi, If you find any mention in the books of the Riggs of Accomack County Virginia from 1687 and later in Kentucky, Washington, Daviess, Mclean and surrounding counties, and mid western and southern states. Please let me know. I would like to share information. I have well over 1000 people with the Riggs surname that are of the same Riggs line, plus many more who are descended from these from 1687 up to living generations. It is also thought that some of our Riggs went to live in Maryland in the late 1700's and maybe North Carolina but this has not been established so far. Surnames: Riggs Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HSDBAIB/1425 Message Board Post: While reserching my surname genealogy a year ago, I discovered a book for sale, "More About The Riggs Family 1590-1973 / Duggan", at www.bookgarden.com. After purchasing and reading, I had found that it did'nt help in my immediate reserch but what I did find was the knowledge and dedication it takes to put your work into a book form. I have since purchased and am reading four other reprinted Riggs books from www.higginsonbooks.com. "Genealogy Of The Riggs Family Vol.1 / Wallace / 1901"; "The Riggs Family Of Maryland / John Beverley Riggs / 1939"; "Our Pioneer Ancestors Of Riggs And Allied Families / Henry Earle Riggs / 1942"; "Some Descendants Of Isaac And Mary Riggs / Rich / 1976". At the presant time I've "hit the wall" in Ontario / Steuben Cnty. NY 1818 with James L. L. Riggs, and am not sure where my quest will lead me, but those books are proudly displayed. When ever I look at them I can't help but think we are all cousins that can be proud of the Riggs heritage in Ame! rica. What other name draws such an intrest? Would'nt it be fun to have a National Riggs Reunion? Rent downtown Chicago, or Woodstock NY?
