My line is through his daughter Adeline Edwinna Riggs who m. George Burgon, and their daughter Lulie Maria Burgon, who married Heber Shulsen. I've posted my database on Rootsweb WorldConnect. To search just that database, you can go to WorldConnect Help and ask to search the sanford-shulsen database, or use the link http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=sanford-shulsen&I11.x=22&I11.y=7 I've traced most of his lines back to the immigrant ancestor, and the material is almost all from published sources. I'd be interested in exchanging information with others, including pictures related to this family. The Riggs line includes a line to Richard Warren of the Mayflower.

His son, Thomas was born in 1632 , died 26 Feb 1722 , probably in Gloucester, Mass, USA. Thomas was married to Mary Millett. John, born 1594, may be the son of John Riggs and Mary Kent. Does any of this match your information? I would be more than pleased to send a GEDCOM to you in exchange for any information you think might match. Thank you in advance, Maggie

Hi, My wife's grand father was Brannick Benjamin Riggs, 1867 who married a Smith and had a Benjamin Smith 1899 and in this generation a Benjamin Charles Riggs 1972. Our earliest Riggs is Thomas, 1802 of Kentucky or Tennessee. Have you come across him at any time? We are at a stalemate with his siblings and/or parents. Thanks Thad

Hello List, My RIGGS family started in Accomack County, Virginia. I am sure some of the early members moved on to surrounding counties and states during the 1700's and early 1800's. Such names as John, Moses, Joshua and Isaac, Watson, Benjamin Riggs and others. If you come across any like these please let me know. David Harrison Riggs. DHRiggsLondon@aol.com
The earliest Riggs I can trace back to is Leroy A. Riggs and his brother John Riggs who lived in Saline County Arkansas in 1860. Leroy moved to Pulaski County in 1870. It looks like both John and Leroy were born in Alabama with a possible 1821 birthdate for Leroy. Leroy was married to Nancy E. Sims in Alabama. They had the following children: Georgia aka Georgianna Nancy Martha Adaline Lucy Richard Leroy died in 1874

Actually, I think what he did was to copy town records and maybe he copied them just as they were. By the way, there seems to be lots of Woodruffs in Litchfield if you are interested. Joyce
