    2. Send addresses if any of you want this estate file for Benjamin. Don't really know where he came from. There was a group of Riggs that I call "from upper Craven Co. who I believe tie in with a John Riggs and wife Elizabeth. They may tie in with Carteret Co. or Onslow Co. Riggs. I have a copier and I can spare a few stamps. Harriette Riggs

    2. Hi David, I need to look for a Census Record. There was a John Riggs Sr. listed with Mary Harris Gordon Riggs and had a son Benjamin in a 1860 Census, so this could not possibly the same Riggs. There is no way to know if this John came from Accomack Co. Know who his other descendants are. Tried to tie them in with my husband's Giles Riggs, but no luck! Sorry. Harriette Harris Riggs

    2. Hi, I am very interested in this Benjamin Riggs----estate record dated Feb. 1771/73 for Benjamin Riggs , Craven Co. NC. I decend from the Riggs of Accomack County, Virginia. Do you know who Benjamin Riggs's parents were? I have a Benjamin Riggs son of Isaac Riggs. This Benjamin was mentioned in his brother Isaac Riggs will of 1742. Could my Benjamin Riggs be the same one as yours? Regards, David Harrison Riggs _DHRiggsLondon@aol.com_ (mailto:DHRiggsLondon@aol.com)

    3. I do not know yet if I am descended from this group, but I would pay you the cost of copying and postage if you would send them to me. My story is a long one. The Bazell Smith is interesting and I find my ancestor, Boardvine Braswell's ( b. 1799, NC) DNA comes up as Riggs. He does not appear to be blood related to the Braswells. gayle braswell ellison Original Message ----------------------- This is in reference to information requested for an Isaac Riggs. 1. Creole Riggs people from Louisiana
    2. Sandra RIGGS
    3. Oops sorry about the previous message: I clicked too fast and was trying to answer Joan's post concerning Creole Riggs people from Louisiana. My father Warren Riggs was from Lafayette Louisiana, and the family are Creoles of mixed race who spoke French. I am told that one of his parents, my grandparents, was part Cherokee. Dad was born in 1908. He had two brothers and 2 sisters one of whom is still living. However, the other surnames mentioned do not ring a bell. I am told that our Riggs family has ties with the surname Arcenaux (spelling?). Does any of this tie in with any other Riggs people from Louisiana? Please let me know. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HSDBAIB/1286.1.1 Message Board Post: I am also looking for clues about Riggs and saw the entries in Clermont co., OH tax lists of 1811 and 1813 for Beniah, Asay/Avery, and Amos Riggs families. I also saw there was a Beniah Riggs md 1833, Clermont co. to Olivia Ralston. (IGI) However, the reason I want to know is some of my Duncanson family, living here at the same time used Riggs as a middle name. Lycurgus and Alfred R., and Elizabeth Duncanson were children of James Duncanson and his first wife Catherine Smith. ( lived 1811 Clermont and later Brown county) Anyone know who Beniah, Asay/Avery and Beniah Riggs were?
