My husband is a descendant of a William Riggs from Marion County, AL. I descend through the Sarah Riggs/James Ellis' line. My grandmother was Francis Ellis, daughter of James Carroll Ellis who was a grandson of Sarah Riggs/James Ellis. A cousin who has done genealogy on the Riggs family thinks that Sarah Riggs was related to Jesse Riggs of Lincoln County, TN., and the William Riggs of Marion County, AL. I do not have the positive proof of all the information about these Riggs/Ellis connections, but I do have a file that I could send that gives the family tree. The name Clisby was used by a lot of the James Ellis/Sarah Riggs descendants. I feel this must be the same family. Joyce Park Riggs

There is a William RIGGS living in Marion County, AL in 1850 Census who has about 10 Children. IS this William a brother to the Samuel and Clisby mentioned who descend from old Jesse RIGGS [1758-1832] who married in 1790 and died in Lincoln Co, TN? Justin E (Elmer) was my great grandfather. I have had little success finding much beyond Elmer's generation. I know he had one son, my grandfather Clarence Justin, who was married to Myrtle McGee. They both died when my dad was very young. Clarence and Myrtle had 3 sons, Justin Allen (or Allen OR Alan, I have seen all 3 on paperwork), Frank Monroe and Donald Baxter. All 3 are now deceased. My cousin and I are the oldest children, and we are trying to put together some sort of record to hand down to our kids...
