I am still on a brickwall search for my ggggrandfather whose name was John Chambers and who seemed to have family in RI. I believe I have found him in Orange Co NY and I have found a John Chambers who married a Eavis Field in New York (probably NYC) in 1761. I have reason to believe he was related to Elizabeth Chambers who married Peleg Briggs in E. Greenwich RI in 1784 and to Mary Chambers who married Gardner Hopkins in 1774 and lived in Orange Co NY.
