Bonnie, It is possible that NEWMAN CLARK HARRINGTON did follow the naming pattern. As the eldest son is WILLIAM (wife's father) and the second son is CHARLES (possible husband's father). Thanks again. Linda ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Hi Linda I think I might have found an answer. There is a Book, on Google's Book List that is "Genealogical & Biographical Notes on the Haring-Herring, Clark, Denton, White, Griggs, Judds, and related Families. Don't remember what state you are in, but it is probably available on inter-library loan. It is also available from NEHGS but it would cost you. >From what I have found, I believe the family might have been Long Island refugee's to Connecticut in the Revolution. That would make sense with your dates, and the proximity to R.I. Haring (Herring) records abound for those areas. Some of them also came from Harington, NY (possibly the name change). You should at least check it out. I can't get it in Canada, so your on your own.
