Because of the amazing amount of spelling variations, the only way we will ever straighten out these families are for more men to participate in the Harrington DNA Project through familytreeDNA. My HARRINGTON line is from RI, but matches none of the proven lines of either ROBERT HARRINGTON or BENJAMIN HARRINGTON. Once we get enough samples we will be able to divide the families into HARRINGTON/HERRINGTON/HERRING/HEARNDON etc. Until then we will all be running around chasing various surname spellings.
