It's been a very long time since I've posted. But I was going through some pictures I've had stored and thought I'd share one of them. The upper left is Sarah Marble Brownell, daughter of Perry Brownell and Susan Russell Howland (Perry is from the Little Compton Brownells and Susan is from the Henry Howland line). Sarah married William Taber Lavare, upper right. Both Sarah and William died violent deaths: William was mugged and died of an aneurysm and Sarah was killed in a train crash. Bottom left is William and Sarah's son William Taber Lavare Jr. (Another son, Arnold, remained in Little Compton.) He married a British girl named Elizabeth Hughes who came to this country seeking employment as a nanny. William and Elizabeth had one child, Mary Hughes Lavare, lower right. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Shores/1549/genealogy/7.jpg Another poster, Betty, and I share the Lavare line. William Sr.'s parents were Epaphroditus Lavare and Rhoda Manchester. When Epaphroditus was lost at sea, Rhoda married James Clarke and had a daughter. Betty comes through this daughter's line, so we are half-cousins. Karen Flanders Eddy in wet CT
