Hi Listers, I am having trouble in finding my Tennant relatives in RI. I have the following information: Asaph Tennant born about 1808 in East Greenwich, Kent Co., RI (from son's birth record) he was married to Irene ?? born about 1812 in Glocester, Providence Co., RI (from son's birth record). I do not know when Asaph died I know it was after 1880 as he was listed in the census and they were living in Smithfield, RI at the time. Irene died in 21 Jan 1893 at Cranston State Institution, Providence Co., Cranston, RI. (have her death record) They had 9 children Charles born 1830, Elizabeth born 1838, Asaph S. born 1840 died 1841 and buried in Sanders lot in Foster, RI, Lawton born 1841 and died 04 Jul 1898 in MI, Lucy born 1844, Henry (my 2nd great grandfather) born Oct 1846 and died 1920, Ann Elizabeth born 1849, Thomas D. Tennant born 26 Jan 1852 in East Greenwich, Kent Co., RI and died 29 Jan 1917 in Providence, Providence Co., RI (have his death record), Franklin W. born 19 Dec 1855 in Scituate Twp, Providence, RI ( have his birth record). I have information from someone from years ago that stated that they thought Asaph came from the Tennant line Havens (4), Oliver (3), John (2) and Alexander (1). I have not been able to verify this. I also had information that Franklin died in Newport, RI in about 1880. He was listed in the census for 1880 as living with his parents in Smithfield, RI. I do not have Irene's maiden name. I was thinking it may be Sanders as their child was buried there in the Sanders Lot. I think from the list of cemeteries that Asaph is buried there also but not sure. I know that Lawton worked on the Asaph Sanders farm for one of the census. But not sure and have not been able to verify this information. Any help will be appreciated as I have been working on this line for a few years. Marsha
