Jude offered to look up records in South Kingston. I am interested in info on Rodmans. There was an Abrathar Rodman who married a Meriam Hazard in 1797. Abrathar may have been from Richmond, RI. He was an indian scout in the French Indian War. Need info on Mint/Mingo/Musk Rodman, Prince Rodman, Isaac Rodman, Moses Rodman, Aaron Rodman. I have a William Rodman, Mary Jane Rodman, Martha Rodman, Miriam Rodman and maybe others (??) as possible children of Abrathar and Meriam Hazard Rodman. William would have been born in 1806, Martha 1799/1800, others?? Abrathar was also known as Bathia, Abiather, abriathar, etc. He left Rhode Island and was on Census in Connecticut for 1830. Disappears after that. Did he die between 1830-1840 in Rhode Island? His widow and her daughter went back to South Kingston and were on 1840, 1850 census. Daughter Miriam Rodman married a John Card I think in 1839 +/-. Her mother Meriam Rodman lived with them. Their names vary from Meriam to Miriam in the records. Any info on any of these Rodmans and any other South Kingston Rodmans would be appreciated. I live in New Britain, CT Naomi Thanks so much.
Naomi There are many Rodmans in S.K. records, but the majority of the names you gave are probably names of Rodman slaves ie; Prince,Musk,Mingo,Mint. These records are scarce at the S.K. Town Hall. There was also a WILLIAM RODMAN b 1806 SK d 12-24-1858 SK death book 1 page 3 The Rodman family was a large family and can be found in No.Kingstown as well as SK. I have several lines that are related to this family. E-mail me at nktown17@cox.net if I can be of any help. Charlie C Charlie Carpenter Washington County,R.I.
