Sorry - I realized I didn't answer your question.... I don't have the vital records CD, but I can access the data they have posted at ancestry.com One of my complaints about the online version is that although it contains several different sets of data from a few different towns, it doesn't tell you where the event occured. Based on what you found at familysearch.org, I still think they are book & page numbers - with no way to tell from the CD where it is.
