    3. Dear Elaine, I very much admire you and I respect your perspective and insight. May I simply add that all war is an atrocity. I believe members of the D.A.R.; etc., (for which I qualify but have not joined) are honoring their ancestors, not the war they fought in. I would qualify for any such a society as Banjofan asked about (but I probably wouldn't have joined it either.) On the other hand, I am a member of the Mayflower Descendants. Your comments have caused me to look deeper into my choices. I'm still pondering.
