    3. I have a Civil War pension file on Henry CRANDALL, my g.grandmother's first husband. If anyone would like a copy of it I will be happy to send it. He died of his injuries in a hospital down south. They lived in Otsego County, NY during this time. I also have pictures of his grave that I will share if anyone is interested. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Bill Hirst" <[email protected]> To: "New London County, Connecticut,Roots Web Discussion Group" <[email protected]>; "RiGenWeb Roots Web Discussion Group" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, August 22, 2007 1:33 PM Subject: [RIGENWEB] Prudence Crandall Details-September 1ST > Hi! > I am sharing this with my Genealogy List that > has some discussion groups,Media Contacts, and > Others. > Prudence Crandall was born in Hope Valley > section of Hopkinton,R.I., and had a school for > black girls in Canterbury,Windham > County,Connecticut; in the 1830's.On September > 1ST from 10 AM to 4:30 AM will be Prudence > Crandall Day at her house that was used as a > school.During the day an unveiling of a > interpretive sign will be erected/dedicated on > the property.Admission is $2 per person.I plan to > attend. > Prudence Crandall is the Official State Heroine > of Connecticut while Nathan Hale is the Official > State Hero. > Prudence Crandall's birthplace in Hope Valley > still stands and is in private ownership. Her > childhood home no longer exists. > The site is easily accessible off exits from > Route#395 with roads going into Canterbury. > Regards, > Scott Bill Hirst > President,Hopkinton,R.I.,Historical Association > Board Member and Life Member,Crandall Family > Association, http://www.cfa.net ,. > > > > > Scott Bill Hirst > 20 Maple Court > Ashaway,RI 02804-1300 USA > (401)377-4643 > Note:Telephone if you need quick reply. > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
