    3. Hello Karl, As promised I went to the research library today, but disappointingly was unable to access NEHGS documents this time. Apparently it depends on who the volunteer help happens to be at the time of your visit. I was able to review a number of books about the early Wilcoxes. One names "From the Bend in the Little River - A Wilcox Book" compiled by Irene Wilcox Lord [929.2 Wilcox 1954] covers mainly the CT Wilcox generations descended from John Wilcocks. I mention this book because of the English family history ( which I will send you copies of offline) also because they reference the 3 known, unrelated Wilcox men who immigrated to America. Namely John Wilcocks to Hartford, CT, Edward Wilcox to Aquidneck (now in RI) then to Stonington CT; and somebody Wilcoxson which information I did not copy. Anyway, none of the books mentioned a brother to Edward by the name of Stephen, although Edward 's son Stephen is prominently mentioned. The other bibliography I copied from was: "Genealogy of Rasselas Wilcox Brown" [929.2 Brown 1921] which has a little more info on the branch of the family that went to NY, and also has a few pages on the Hazard family headed by Thomas b. 1610 in England, by 1639 he was one of 8 founders of Newport, RI. In 1640 he was appointed a member of the General Court of Elections. "Wilcox-Brown-Medbury Genealogy" compiled by William Alonzo Wilcox, published 1902. This book is referred to by later authors. "History of Stonington Connecticut 1649-1900" Wheeler/ Genealogical Publishing Co [974.91 Stoning 1977] which is another authority on early settlers. "Dictionary of Wilcox/Wilcoxon Families of New England and Their Descendants" by Martha Scott Osborne, Heritage Books Vol 1+2 [929.2 Wilcox 1997]. This one gives an alphabetical listing of all Wilcoxes that the author found over 30 years of research, brief info on each with sources. I copied all the entries for Hazard Wilcox which I will forward to you offline, and all the entries for Lyman and Lydia, which I have been hunting. I have included their call #s so you can ask for them at your library, or at least they can tell you the closest place to you where they are located. Hazard sr died in the revolutionary war as a tory. Most of the records on the internet show his father as Edward with no proff sources. My research points to Stephen. Stephen and Edward are brothers. They have another brother named George who has a son named Matthew Hazzard. I have data that shows Hazzard sr and Matthew Hazard is not the same. I would really appreciate your help.
