    2. I too traveled to Lowell Ma and surrounding towns. I had traced my Tyler line down through Mendon, MA. and Preston, CT. Was told by Ruth Ann Sherman that it was wrong. I had all references and still think I was right but was challenged with the line. 3. Hi Shirley. Is there any chance your Tyler's might connect to mine? I descend from Solomon TYLER who married Larana MASON in Providence, RI 1801. Solomon was born in Newport, RI 1771. The 1774 census lists Isaac Tyler in Newport with three sons, one daughter and a wife and the 1780 has the family in Providence. I have family data for Solomon down to myself but have not been able to definitely identify the wife or parents of Isaac Tyler. He was commissioned by George Washington to command the Spitfire Row Galley and other privateer vessels during the Rev War. A family bible has a notation that Solomon Tyler was the son of Isaac Tyler of Rev War fame and Isaac was descended from John Tyler from either Connecticut or Massachusetts. Willard Irving Tyler Brigham. The Tyler Genealogy, vol. 3 has this: 8208 ISAAC TYLER (Isaac), born in Branford, Ct. 11 Apr 1743; mar. ----. (The placing of this line is conjectural, but in 1898 it is the only way I can place it. The name “SOLOMON” in this line suggests ISAAC’s brother “Solomon”. This not by WILLARD IRVING TYLER BRIGHAM, who did this manuscript). ISAAC moved to Newport, RI. He was found there in the census of RI taken in 1749; as follows: “Having family – 1 male above 16 years, 3 males under 16 years, 1 female over 16 and 1 female under 16.” The only child’s name known is SOLOMON, born in Newport. 8669 # SOLOMON TYLER, born abt 1774; died 4 Dec 1827. I have not accepted Brigham's information as fact. 3. By Ruth Ann's manuscript, do you mean her article that was published in TAG (The American Genealogist) on descendants of Job Tyler?
