Help! I've hit a stumbling block in my genealogy. I'm looking for a Joshua Sheffield from RI. He would have been born between 1770-1780. He married Susan Hoxsie and had a son by the name of Henry Hoxsie Sheffield born around 1798. My genealogy ends with Henry. I've been told his father's name was Joshua and his mother's maiden name was Hoxsie, hence the middle name, and that both his mother and father were from RI, but I have been unable to prove anything up to this point. Steve From my Hoxie line, I have a John Hoxie b 6-28-1752 that married on 2-14-1779 in Richmond,R.I. to Bridget Tripp b 1755 Exeter,R.I. They had a daughter Susan Hoxie that married John Sheffield. John Hoxie's parents were Stephen Hoxie and Elizabeth Kenyon. I'm believe this line came from Richmond,R.I. I've never followed up on this line and don't have any sources listed..
