Barb sent an EMail to RIGENWEB stating PBS in LA is showing African-American Lives tonight at 9. This is the DeW0lf slave thing. Claire
I don't think this is the DeWolfe program. from the pbs website, for African American Lives, http://www.pbs.org/wnet/aalives/about.html Using genealogy, oral history, family stories and DNA analysis to trace lineage through American history and back to Africa, the series provides a life-changing journey for a diverse group of highly accomplished African Americans: Dr. Ben Carson, Whoopi Goldberg, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Dr. Mae Jemison, Quincy Jones, Dr. Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot, Chris Tucker and Oprah Winfrey. There's a whole bunch more information on the site. Maybe some of these people can connect their families to the RI slave traders, but it doesn't specifically say so. I thought we determined that the program about the DeWolfes was called "Traces of the Trade" http://www.tracesofthetrade.org/about.html created by Producer/Director Katrina Browne There are several different programs about slavery being shown on PBS this month, but I don't think the Traces of the Trade is ready to be shown.
