I may have found the answer to my previous question. Newspaper (telegraphic summary in Maryland) from 16 April 1883: Olney Burgess of Foster, RI while making a social call upon Daniel & Henry Burlingame at Killingly, CT on Saturday last, suddenly drew a revolver and shot Daniel, slightly wounding him. In the struggle for the pistol, Henry was dangerously wounded, a bullet entering his nostril. Burgess returned to Rhode Island where he was arrested. He was locked up, but died in a few hours from self-administered poison. Three years ago, he shot a man, blinding him for life. ======================== >From my files, this Olney Burgess was oldest son of Gideon & Phebe (Williams) Burgess of Foster Al Rose **************AOL Search: Your one stop for directions, recipes and all other Holiday needs.
