    2. The 101st has had more than it's share of loses. The sacrifice that continues to be made for the principles that our country was founded upon still staggers me. When our friends and family make the list of heros enabling us to continue the dreams of our ancestors,Earth actually stops for a moment and all else seems of less importance. To all of us who count the victories and losses in our generation and those over the last 300+ years, Memorial Day leaves us with intense gratitude and thanksgiving. Each loss has an incredible effect on an ever expanding circle of family, friends and troops of men and women who selflessly "get the job done". There's no way to say "Thank You" other than to remember them and appreciate what it has given to the rest of us. Our lives are richer because of their devotion.
