I looked up your Patriot and he has been accepted as a DAR Patriot. They have him as Sylvester Pendleton, rank: Navy Captain, service: North Carolina, Death: 1790 North Carolina, spouse: Sarah Champlain. At this point all you need to do is go to the DAR website and pull down the form for sending for a Patriots most recent application. It costs $10.00 and takes about 3 weeks to get. Once you have that you only need to establish your relationship and put in an application if that is what you want to do. I would highly encourage it as the DAR is a wonderful organization. But now I am looking for someone who has a copy of Sylvester's military service during the Revolutionary War. It appears that Sylvester served in the navy in the state of North Carolina. I have been unable to locate a copy of his military service (the film at the National Archives that I need is one that is no longer available for rent and I'm not "willing" to purchase the film.) I have not been able to locate a member of the DAR who has made their application to NSDAR on Sylvester Pendleton's service so am making an appeal to the RI-GenWeb listers.
