FYI I checked the Providence Carpenter book and Cary was not listed in it. That does not mean he is not a Providence Carpenter - as Charlie indicated, he most likely is. The book just is not really helpful for the RI lines :) All my lines go back to William of Rehoboth and are all descended from Jeremiah Carpenter and Abigail Shelden. They had a son Ephraim who m. Mary Rodman and their daughter, Sarah Carpenter, married Pardon Vaughan. Pardon's daughter, Lucetta Vaughan, married Jeremiah Carpenter - they are my 3rd great grandparents on my mother's side. the younger Jeremiah had a sister, Thankful Knowles Carpenter, who married William Waite Potter - they are my 3rd g grandparents through my father :) My family tree is pretty twisted - and I'll bet I have as much Carpenter DNA as Charlie does!
