I found the list of abbreviations on the CD as follows click "Edit" in the upper menu bar click "Go To" in the drop-down box select "R.I. Vital Records: New Series, Volume 10" under page number enter "xvii" (without the quotes) It starts with the town abbreviations then gives the others which are continued on the next page. The abbreviations may be in other volumes, but that's the first place where I found them. You can get there another way by clicking on the "Contents" tab at the right side of the window. Next you scroll down to the same book (RI VR, vol. 10) and select "Preface" in the lower box. Each volume of the New Series has its own preface, so you may want to print out some of the relevant pages from all of them. Jim B.
