    1. Descendants of Sylvester PENDLETON

    3. Looking for any descendants of Sylvester PENDLETON and Sarah CHAMPLAIN. Earlier this year I posted a query looking for information on Sylvester's birth/death. But now I am looking for someone who has a copy of Sylvester's military service during the Revolutionary War. It appears that Sylvester served in the navy in the state of North Carolina. I have been unable to locate a copy of his military service (the film at the National Archives that I need is one that is no longer available for rent and I'm not "willing" to purchase the film.) I have not been able to locate a member of the DAR who has made their application to NSDAR on Sylvester Pendleton's service so am making an appeal to the RI-GenWeb listers.     3. Cindy: There are a Sylvester, Sr. and Jr in NC at the same time. If Sr. died abt 1781 then the records I found are of Sylvester, Jr as serving in war of 1812. Nothing found for Sr. Sr. born 1730 RI and Jr b. 1752? RI. Have to check exact dates. Sr. married sarah Champain  and Jr married Sarah Clements 1783

    3. I would be interested in a copy of Sylvester Pendelton Jr's War of 1812 records - please contact me off list to discuss. I have birth of Sylvester Sr at 5 Aug 1730 in Westerly, Kings Co, RI - son of Joseph Pendleton and Sarah Worden. My records also show Sylvester Jr. born 1748 in Westerly, Kings Co, RI - son of Sylvester Sr. and Freelove Pendleton, his cousin. The couple did not marry. I also show that Sylvester Jr. was married to Eunice Cobb. Other researchers have the death of Sylvester Sr as occurring around or after 1799 in New Bern county, NC. To date I have not been able to locate anyone who has documentation of this. I have found both Sylvester Sr and Sylvester Jr in the 1790 census in New Bern county, NC all though other records state that Sylvester Jr died in Westerly in 1788 ... there is also a Sylvester, son of Sylvester and Eunice Cobb ... bor5n 9 Nov 1779 ... so I am wondering if the War of 1812 records isn't for Sylvester, the grandson of Sylvester born in 1730 ... it is so confusing to try and untangle all the Sylvesters.
