It's important to realize that "these people" have no training in chemical weathering. They are simply weekend cemetery trash picker-uppers who think that act makes them experts on anything even associated with cemeteries. It is a little bit like asking the hotdog vendor about the architectural strength of beam elements at the astrodome.
