Hi list, the above site has recently been updated with various records covering Settlement,Bastardy,Apprentice,Removal etc. Derbyshire based it contains many names of folks from other counties who for one reason or another had a connection ,however tenuous with Derbyshire. It may be you have no Derbyshire connections, I expect most of you will not have, however a lot of you will have English ancestors and the above site will give you an idea of just what may be found in certain documents in English Record Offices. And you never know what you may find. It may just be your lost Uncle Jack is here. ! Yesterday Journey located at; http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~spire/Yesterday/index.htm mike

    3. Has anyone heard about any more vandilism at brayton Cemetery? Also who is in charge of clean up? I went this morning lloking for ancesters graves and when I found one of them I noticed that there is a piece missing from the monument. It looks like it was taken off not to long ago, so I was wondering if there has been more vandilism that I had not heard about. This is the first time I have seen the monument and have no idea what was there but what ever it was left a clean circle beneath it with a hole in the middle. And it looks as if it probebly took some force to remove. Also in the Arnold lot there is a huge tree limb that came off probebly in the last wind storm nearly knocking a stone over, and lying across the top of another. 2. Bill Waterhouse
    3. Aloha Lorna: I find Caleb A. Carr as master of the 'Shaw Perkins,' a 55ton sloop built at Mystic in 1840 by the George Greeman & Co. In 1847, with Carr as master, she was lost at Desolation Island with her crew of 8, with, of course, Carr being amongst them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I also find the 193 ton schooner 'Raven's Wing,' also built in Mystic & launched in June, 1870 at the Hill & Grinnell shipyard. Capt Joseph York of Westerly, RI was to command her in the coastal coal trade. In Dec., 1872 she was dismasted & abandoned at sea, after being caught in a gale while bound from Philadelphia to Salem, MA with a load of coal. The crew was rescued by the brig Annie Brown of Wolfville, Nova Scotia & landed in Demerara, Guyana in Jan 1873. The crew, including Capt York, had been given up for lost before they finally arrived home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am hopeful you will find something of value to your research here. You are most welcome, Bill Waterhouse Mystic, CT < wm.r.waterhouse@mailstation.com > -END OF MESSAGE- -------------------------------------------------------------- Bill, Does the book have anything on the Amos York of CT. or the Carrs of RI? If so and there are too many, just first names and ca year I could narrow down my request considerably. Thank you so much for you offer. 3. Hi Monica: I have checked on the trees as I think there might be some melding of lines as they develop. The Congdon line is currently the one I connect with. I don't know the Maceras. I like your site and am so pleased it is gaining in information. What an interesting story about the girls who were taken in by the Shakers. What a bizarre twist to someone's genealogy. Those girls were beautiful. Too bad they didn't live in my day, I would have taken them in. Hope your day is good.
