    3. Bonnie, NEHGS has changed it's sign-in procedure. User name used to be your last name and then your membership number was your password. Now, your user name is the full e-mail address you used when you subsrcibed or renewed. That may be why you could not get in? 3. Jean, There is probably a transcription error or typo there. Elizabeth lived to be 104 years old and outlived three husbands and several of her children. She died at her home at Brandy brook Rd (Angell home) across from where she was born. That cemetery had only one stone when last visited or recorded and is now lost in the woods. I e-mailed you off list with a half serious, reaso why they were (and are) so elusive! cousin Don ----- Original Message ----- From: "JeanB" <gentlesunset@cox.net> To: <RIGENWEB-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 19, 2006 1:11 PM Subject: [RIGENWEB] The elusive Taylors and Carpenters > Don, as for the RI VR documentation, we have only found the birth > records for the following children of John and Naomi: > > John Taylor, B. 6 Aug 1716 > Elizabeth Taylor, B. 3 Jan 1717 > Benjamin Taylor, B. 27 Jan 1719 > Charity Taylor, B. 10 Mar 1722 > > Kim > > Hi People...cuz Don and all... > I have a question on the above....If John was born 6 Aug 1716...Elizabeth > would have been a 5 month baby...I'm not so sure a baby born at 5 motnhs > would have lived in those days...anyone got any suggestions here? > > As far as these Taylors being an elusive bunch...so are the ones they > married...LOL > > My line goes down thru Elijah and Roby Stone...Elijah died in Burrillville > 27 July 1880 while living with his daughter Mary (Mary married Cary Dyer > Carpenter (nothing further on him) in Scituate abt 1849. 3. Don, as for the RI VR documentation, we have only found the birth records for the following children of John and Naomi: John Taylor, B. 6 Aug 1716 Elizabeth Taylor, B. 3 Jan 1717 Benjamin Taylor, B. 27 Jan 1719 Charity Taylor, B. 10 Mar 1722 Kim Hi People...cuz Don and all... I have a question on the above....If John was born 6 Aug 1716...Elizabeth would have been a 5 month baby...I'm not so sure a baby born at 5 motnhs would have lived in those days...anyone got any suggestions here? As far as these Taylors being an elusive bunch...so are the ones they married...LOL My line goes down thru Elijah and Roby Stone...Elijah died in Burrillville 27 July 1880 while living with his daughter Mary (Mary married Cary Dyer Carpenter (nothing further on him) in Scituate abt 1849. Now, the questions are..what happened to Elijahs wife? and what happened to Cary Carpenter. they seem to have vanished into thin air. Now..I can understand why they were in Burrillville, as my grandmother was born there..the daughter of Charles Cary D. Carpenter..Charles the son of Cary and Mary was working in the mills there. Charles (also born in Burrillville) was married to Jane /Ayers/ (Eyers) 1851-1922 At the time of my grandmothers marriage, she was living in Moosup, CT with her motherJane and her grandmother in the house that the grandmother had originally went to from England..there is no reference to a father on her marriage in Moosup..and when they moved to Cranston after the marriage, the grandmother went with them...an no mention of husband there either... Why are these Taylors and Carpenter sooooooo elusive????They must have had a sense of humor as they certainly like to play "hide and seek".... Jean in RI

    1. Re Cooke Books
    2. Jane
    3. Judy, thank you for your kind words about the Cooke Book and the info about libraries, etc. Ron, you and I were in contact a year or so ago on the subject, and I don't think I have anything new to add to what I told you then. You mentioned Sugarland, Tx, and there are some Cooke descendants there who have bought several copies of the book, so perhaps you have more relatives there than you know. Best wishes, Jane

    3. Hi Ron, Yes, we have communicated before, but I don't think we've identified exactly how we're cousins. We've got a lot of common ancestors as I recall. Don't you have a slew of Giffords in your tree as well as Cooks? And yes, the Clayton Library has a copy of the Thomas Cook volumes, so when you're visiting your daughter, you can look at them yourself. They are housed in the old Clayton House along with all of the other family histories, not in the newer library building. I do have Elizabeth Anthony and Francis Brayton in my tree, but they're not in my direct line. Her father, David Anthony, was older brother to my 6g-grandfather, Joseph Anthony. I'm not sure, without my handy Legacy relationship calculator, what that makes our relationship, though! Judy
