    3. What a shame. Seems like an Historic cemetery like this one which contains the remains and monument of one so important to our country's history could be secured by a fence with a locked gate. And, I vote for razor wire around the top. And I vote for punishment by irate civilians, mob justice. One reason I'm glad that my family cemetery in Scituate is in an obscure location surrounded by private wooded property is that it is less known and therefore less likely to be vandalized. 3. That sounds so interesting. Wish the heck I didn't have to work so I could spend time looking into this. I certainly will have to take a ride out there some Saturday. Did I mention my Aunt Jessie was the librarian there for years and my mom went to school at the Tyler Library when it was a one room school house. I am sure that there is more information on the Tyler's which I believe will lead me to Curtis Foster that is buried in the Moosup Valley Cemetary. I was born and raised in Foster my whole life. My brother and I lived across the street from the library and were the 8th generation to live there. I have tons of old books etc.. from the old homestead. Thanks again and if you have anymore leads, please pass along. 3. Did you get her date of birth from the gravestone? Sometimes, when they worked out the age they goofed. I found an Abigail Perkins b 16 July 1782, d of John and Eunice Perkins, of Lynnfield, MA. They had a lot of kids. Of course, they weren't too particular in the records back then, either, so it may have been a christening date. 1. Re: [RIGENWEB] Tyler.

    3. Hi Shirley. Is there any chance your Tyler's might connect to mine? I descend from Solomon TYLER who married Larana MASON in Providence, RI 1801. Solomon was born in Newport, RI 1771. The 1774 census lists Isaac Tyler in Newport with three sons, one daughter and a wife and the 1780 has the family in Providence. I have family data for Solomon down to myself but have not been able to definitely identify the wife or parents of Isaac Tyler. He was commissioned by George Washington to command the Spitfire Row Galley and other privateer vessels during the Rev War. A family bible has a notation that Solomon Tyler was the son of Isaac Tyler of Rev War fame and Isaac was descended from John Tyler from either Connecticut or Massachusetts. Willard Irving Tyler Brigham. The Tyler Genealogy, vol. 3 has this: 8208 ISAAC TYLER (Isaac), born in Branford, Ct. 11 Apr 1743; mar. ----. (The placing of this line is conjectural, but in 1898 it is the only way I can place it. The name “SOLOMON” in this line suggests ISAAC’s brother “Solomon”. This not by WILLARD IRVING TYLER BRIGHAM, who did this manuscript). ISAAC moved to Newport, RI. He was found there in the census of RI taken in 1749; as follows: “Having family – 1 male above 16 years, 3 males under 16 years, 1 female over 16 and 1 female under 16.” The only child’s name known is SOLOMON, born in Newport. 8669 # SOLOMON TYLER, born abt 1774; died 4 Dec 1827. I have not accepted Brigham's information as fact.
