If you or a family member are a veteran who lived in Westerly,R.I., or enlisted or discharged from that town you would be eligible. By the end of the month Melinda Boeglin, the Tax Collector of Westerly is hoping to get new names to be recognized. My own father Robert S. Hirst, entered the National Guard in Westerly and in 1941 the National Guard was nationalized where he served in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of The Bulge.     3. Thank you to all who have sent me info re the Bucklin Post. I've been busy this evening sending msg. to RIHS because I the on-line catalog showed no info to the Post. I've also looked at the SUVCW. I found the RI info however, YAHOO froze me out because of a limited "Data Transfer" and told me to wait a while and try again. Prior to being bumped out, I sent a query to them re Bucklin Post. And, tomorrow, I'll call the RI State Archives to see if they could suggest where I might locate info on the Bucklin Post. I can't thank all of you enough for your help. I'll keep you posted as I go along. Pat

The closest I've been able to come to finding records for the Bucklin Post is that someone at RIHS said they have some records in their files. Perhaps JP Nichols GAR records might be found there too. How about contacting the Rockland Historical Society? Pat

Bucklin Post #20 Does anyone know where the files for the State Board of Soldiers Relief (Rhode Island) and the Bucklin Post could be found? I'm looking for files in the 1899 - 1916 period.
