Hi Charlotte: The gathering in Wilkesboro is not a Riddle gathering but a dedication of several historical monuments renovated by the town of Wilkesboro and the Old Wilkes Museum. One of the dedications is of the "Tory Oak" monument built to replace the original Oak that was destroyed by lightning several years ago. The "Tory Oak" is believed to be the tree where Captain William Riddle and others were hanged from for their efforts on behalf of the British during the Revolutionary War. All are welcome.
