I have an obit.from Burlington Iowa on James Edward Riddle(Jimmy). He was the son of my Richard L Riddell and was born in Florida Mo. on June 5, 1895. He was living in Macomb IL., but something happend and he had to get out of Dodge and moved to Burlington. I will attach his obit. This is my direct family by Richard L.Riddle's second marriage to Sophie Bloodgood Riddell. I will also attach his brother Samuel Joseph who died in Macomb. JAMES EDWARD RIDDLE SR. June 19, 1966 James Edward Riddle Sr., of North Hill nursing home, formerly of the Baxter Hotel, died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday at the home. He was born June 5, 1895 in Florida Mo., the son of Richard L. and Sofia Bloodgood Riddle. Mr Riddle was a former employe of the Burlington Basket Co. Surviving: One son, James E. Riddle Jr., USMC; and seven daughters; Mrs. Cora V. Nelson, Burlington, Mrs. Opal Spring, Macomb, Mrs. Mamie Couch, Bettendorf, and Ruth, Jessie, Thelma and Wanita, Danville; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Services: Friday at 11a.m. Elliott-Lunning Chapel, Rev. George Pennington; Memoria Park Cemetery. I do know that one of his 3 daughters by his first marriage is still alive but has Alzheimer's and is in a home in Macomb IL. She is Opal. SEPTEMBER 16, 1950.........MACOMB DAILY JOURNAL SERVICES TO BE SUNDAY FOR SAMUEL J. RIDDELL Funeral services for Samuel Joseph Riddell, 59, of Macomb will be held at 1:30 p. m. Sunday at the Lady-Sargent funeral home. The Rev. F. H. Toliver will officiate and, burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. He died yesterday at St. Mary's hospital at Quincy a half-hour after he had suddenly become ill. Death was attributed to coronary occlusion. His residence was at 517 West Kelly street. He was born Dec. 4, 1890 at Florida, Mo., a son of Richard and Sophia Bloodgood Riddell, and was employed as a brickmason. He was married April 5, 1908 to Margaret Friday, who survives with five children, Elmer Lee Riddell, 420 West McDonough street; Lester, 506 Crest Kelly Howard E., 517 West Kelly; Sylvester, 513 West Kelly; Erma Jean Connelly, 527 West Kelly. a brother Edward of Burlington, Iowa anda sister Minnie Sebers of St. Louis, Mo., also survive. A son, Jessie, was killed in Europe during World War II, and a daughter, Joan, also deceased. Friends may call at the residence until noon Sunday.
