Hi all, I just read the email about a branch of the Riddle family being part Comanche Indian, I think the Riddles were from KY and had moved to TX. It's always been told in my Riddle branch that we were part Cherokee Indian but I haven't been able to verify that yet. The first genealogist that I had helping me said it was almost impossible to confirm an Indian heritage as on census records they had a B beside their name as did people of negro race. But as of now it doesn't make much difference one way or the other as I can't find any relatives past my ggrandfather anyway. But as it is something I have always believed I really would like to find out the truth one of these days. These are the people I'm still searching for: James Robert Riddle-b.1840--I believe in Henrico Co.,VA. He had a brother named- John Flemming Riddle-b.1835-I believe in Henrico Co.,VA. Both brothers married and lieved in Sussex Co.,VA. James married Alma Jeannett Sheffield in 1865. Hoping some one sees a connection, thanks. Charlotte A.
