Dear Group: I know I have posted this query to the board several times but, I thought I would keep trying. The following is from a list of people buried in the Bunton Cemetary located near Dale, Texas in Caldwell County. As you see, the list includes several Riddles including my grandfather, his parents and my gggrandmother. Her name was Lucinda Jane (Smith?) Riddle. I am stuck on my gggrandfather, a James Riddle who settled in Texas in 1861. He reportedly came from MO and was born around 1830. I have not located any record of his death although he seems to have passed away not long after the family arrived in TX. I have some information that suggests that he came from Joplin, MO although in the 1900 Caldwell County Census, my ggrandfather, James Alexander Riddle, reports that his father was born in Illinois. I suspect this whole group is somehow related - I think 3-sons settled in Caldwell County. I remain optimistic that someone else is out there researching this line. My job and family prevent me from putting as much energy into this as I would like. I am hoping for a lucky break. Regards, C.
