L.D. Riddle (if we have the right one) was born in 1843. We know he had son, Henry Hampton Riddle, born 1893 in Gorman, Eastland Co., TX, just north-west of Comanche County, TX. L.D.R. shows up in the 1870 census in Owen Co. KY but not the 1880 census. So he may have moved to TX in the 1870s. L.D.R. was a teacher and apparently the Comanches had been forced to give up their nomadic ways by the 1870s. Incidentally, I don't find any present-day Riddles in Comanche Co. but plenty in Cherokee County, TX! > Hi all, I just read the email about a branch of the Riddle family being part > Comanche Indian, I think the Riddles were from KY and had moved to TX.
