Hi, it's been awhile since I posted my elusive family so I am trying again to connect with some one before asking another genealogist for help. This will be the fourth one, see what I mean by elusive? Oh well, I know some of you are having the same problems. So here goes: RIDDLE, James Robert b.1840--I believe his father's name was William and he had a brother named John Flemming Riddle. John and James were together in a census in Sussex Co.,Virginia. John married Alma Jeannette Sheffield(b.abt.1848 in Sussex Co.,VA) in 1865 in Halifax Co.,N.C. I believe they lived in Sussex Co. and had eight children: John William Peyton-b.1866 m-Lena Cornett Martha Virginia-m--Flemming M. Fox George Riddle b. 1870 Everet Jefferson-b.1872 m--Mary Madell Vaughan James Thomas-b.1873 Junious Edward-1874-m--Rhoda Hayes Susan Lucretia--b.1879-m--Erastis Cornett Hattie Ruth-b.1888 m--Joseph Well John William Peyton ( believe called Peyton) Riddle m: Lena Jackson Cornett. John was a saw mill worker so children were born in different counties. 1- John Thomas 1889 2- Minnie Lee b.1891 m. Sam Towsend 3-Mamie Estell b.1893--m.
