    3. My grandmother, Lily Belle Grammar-Riddle, never saw her father as he left AL for Texas when my ggrandmother was 7 months pregnant. He was Cherokee, according to family stories, and went to Texas to claim land promised by the government. Haven't really researched this line yet...but know he had a family there and have the names of two of his sons. Anyone have the surname of Hawkins they are working on? ---------- From: Mary Hill <mevhill@burgoyne.com> To: RIDDLE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [RIDDLE-L] Fw: Indian connection Date: Thursday, July 08, 1999 9:31 PM I have records I found last month of William Riddle, a white man, who married a Choctaw woman, Cathy. He was an interpreter for the Choctaw nation and died in 1818. His sons and grandchildren are on the Choctaw rolls right up to the 20th century.
