Hi, Mary I just returned from the FHC and found my ggggrandfather in the 1870 N.C. cenus. (Haywood County) It shows him being 49 yrs. old. Born in S.C. abt.1821. My gggrandfathers death certificate says his mother and father were born in N.C. Also are the people listed after him his family ? They left the last name off everyone but him. The person after him is Adtine 50 or 60 yrs.old keepinghouse, next Obe(d or t) 20yrs old farm labor, then Terry 18 yrs. old farm labor. I'm guessing the death certificate had the wrong state. for there birthplace. My gggrandfather was nowhere to be found in 1870 N.C. or S. C. he would have been 17 yrs. old. He doesn't show up again until 1900 cenus in Anderson county S.C. married with 6 children. I feel like I have hit a brick wall with Silas any suggestions were to look next. Thanks, Diane
