Ms. Clark; The LDS has all 93 rolls of the Dawes application and they are in order by application number. If you have an application number on John, then use the 1st roll which is the index to figure out which of the other 93 is the roll you need to search. These applications have an enormous amount of information from parents and all their children to grandparents and all their children but most importantly it contains a direct link by name to the Indian that is the source of the heritage. As far as BIA, all you need to do is provide necessary documentation that you are related to any individual in that lineage that is in a biological line of the enrollee...i.e., if you have documentation on one of his brother's or sisters or aunt's or uncles, the actual lineage is done then through them as the source of enrollment. As far as Cherokee, if you have access to an LDS, its rather easy....Choctaw which I believe most of the Riddles to be except the William F. line; Seminole, Creek, etc, are a little more difficult but LDS is truly the place to start. If you have access the the Haistains Land Tract books of Choctaw lands there are 42 Riddles listed (one is John W. Riddle) and it gives the actual plot of the land and their Choctaw enrollment number. I probably said to much already, wish you luck. Dewey Cline.....Still looking for J.P.
