Hi Cathie, I don't know of a connection, but that does not mean there was not one. Families were so often split in their loyalities. William Riddle's apparent brother, John Riddle/Ridley of Stokes and Rockingham counties, NC, fought for the patriot cause and received a Rev. War pension. That is the added tragedy of war. The Civil War had similar divided loyalities. I will surely file and save this message.
