Hi Mary, thanks for your help. I have been in touch with Steve Riddle and although we are not of the same family, he has been kind enough to offer helpful suggestions. I sent him an email recently and asked if he got the book, The Riddle, Ruddle,Riddel Trail by Ms Benson, if he would look up one name for me and if it was in the book then I would buy the book for myself. Well before I could hear from him I got an email from Ms Bensons neice, J. Penn, offering to do the lookup for me, which she did. The James R. Riddle she found in the book had all of the same info of my greatgrandfather, except he was born in Orange Co.,NC. Maybe you saw the name in that book?? But then I have seen the same name too but at a different time and place. Charlotte A.
