The cusp of the carabelli is a normal variation in upper molar teeth. It is a protrusion in the enamel on the tongue side of the tooth. It is similar to a talon on the claws of birds. I remember the dentist showing his nurse this on a tooth I had pulled years ago. Carol Carol
