Two wives. 1) Mary Smith [daughter of Charles Wesley SMITH and Miriam POINDEXTER] and 2) Mary L. WITHERSPOON. John is buried at Yeowstown Cemetery, Arlma, Arkansas. Eight children by Mary. Sarah Jane, Benjamin Buchanan, William C., John Robert, Richard Edward, Martha Melissa, Nancy Alice, and Pleasant Arlie. Four did not live to be adults. James, Sibby, Miriam, and Charley.
