Bob, I am doing some research in trying to find a connection between our Riddle lines. No luck so far but I am still at it. The question of how or why my g-grandfather was named Benjamin Britton Riddle is still unknown at this time but I feel sure that "Britton" or "Brittan" was from some connection to or with the Brittan family, which one I am still researching. Shirley Skeen Borden of CA seems to think that it may have come from a RIDDLE/ARROWOOD connection to a Brittan family. I am trying to find my notes on this subject. I'll let you know what I find. As far as the "Britton" name being used in my Riddle family, only two people have been given that name. James Riddle (1832-1867) and Elizabeth Hensley (1831-1865) named their son, my g-grandfather Benjamin Britton Riddle (1851-1928) and B.B. Riddle named his son William Britton Riddle (1912-1989). I wish that I could be of more help. I'll let you know if I find any connection.
