James G was my grandfather who raised me. He had other bothers--Jess, Handy, William N. and sisters=Ida, Bell, Sina, Nancy Jane. Handy and Jess each had a twin brother that died at their birth. I believe there were 14 children from that family of James G. Their father was Bachus Riddle, mother was Anna Hughes. Bachus had a brother named Lewis who was the story teller of the county. Granddaddy met him one day just high-tailing on a horse up the Deyton Valley. He hollered "Uncle Lewis tell me a big lie!". Uncle Lewis replied, "I hanven't got time, Old granny Garland has diied and I'm going up to Burnsville to get the burial clothes!" Granddaddy turned around and as a custom went and got neighbors and dug a grave beside her husband. They all went down to granny Garland's that night to pay their respect. Granny Garland was sitting on the front porch. Riddles will be Riddles. Charlie Riddle/Dulles Airport ---- "caribym" <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Carolyn, > Thank you for your e-mail.
