Hi Mary: What other information do you have on your Terry/Riddle side. It struck me in reading your post that my Terry Riddle might have received his first name from his mother's maiden name. Nothing is known about who the mother was of Terry Riddle from TN. Terry's Dad was James R. Riddle and came supposedly from NC to Rhea County (later Hamilton County) TN. in the late 1700s, early 1800s. Terry was b. about 1800 and married into the Patterson family in 1819 in Rhea Cty. TN. Some Riddle researchers have suggested that Terry might have been named after Tyre Riddle, but for some reason I don't think that is the case.
