Butch this may be a long shot but my gggrfa Green Joseph Riddle b. ca. 1824 Ala. states in the 1870 census that his fa foreign born and mo born SA. His dau's were Mary"Minnie", Lula, Green, and George; girls came to Tx. and my fa said we had family at Groesbeck(Limestone Co. Tx.) but I can't find the connection even though Lula is b. near one of those Riddle's. There is Indian blood in the family and I have found it for one in Green Joseph's wife but I think Green was also by way of mo. My fa always said that the family was "mostly Welch" and that "he heard said there was some Indian blood in the family and it was Cherokee" and he told me that there are "two tribes" when he mentioned it to me.
