Okay, all you folks with NC Riddle....who has my gggrandfather, Henry A. Riddle? He was born about 1825 somewhere in NC and was on the 1860 Hunt County, Texas census; he is listed as a farmer and waggoner. Wife is listed as Mary E. born in Tn; 3 children listed, William A., Sarah E. (married James Johnson Hammack in 1868 in Hunt Co) and my ggrandfather, John G....all born in Texas. I believe Henry went by his middle name which was probably Alex or Alexander or even Alick as that was on his son's death certificate.
