    1. [RIDDLE-L] Benjamin Riddle and Francis Hawkins Riddle
    2. I know there was a lot of Benjamin Riddle's but what I found on my Benjamin Riddle was in the Athens County Court House in McMinn, Tenn. I did find a Randolph Ridle, (note one D in last name spelling which could have been an error.) living next to Benjamin in the 1790 I believe census in NC. Other than that I have never found concrete evidence to document that he is the son of Randolph and Jemimah Hawkins RIddle. I can document the family on down, but I cannot document Benjamin and Francis Hawkins Riddle marriage records. I have been trying to locate where their land deeds are on Indian lands in NC and Tn. I do know McMinn County did not become a county until 1819 form the judge in McMinn a few years ago. It was named McMinn County for a Mr. McMinn and that was made McMinn County then. I am sure the lands are kept in the Indian Records somewhere in N.C. or Washington wherever they keep those older records. I have written many places and have made many telephone calls but to no avail. Someday, maybe I will find them. If any of you can help I would greatly appreciate it. Now I am told my Benjamin Riddle, married to Francis Hawkins is a son of Stephen Riddle. I would appreciate where the documentation is so I can also document it in my book as being correct means being correct. I like to document each person in here and not just guess as to whom my ancestors are. (Kings- Queens-waifs-or just plain ordianary people like we are.) Does this make sense to any of you? Please let me hear from you. wrakj
